Power generators for wind turbines with direct drive permanent magnet

           Feature of the electric generator (Fig. 1) is that due to the large number of poles and high specific characteristics of the generator is best suited for use in gearless wind turbines. Design to the generator (rotor outer) makes the design even more compact and lightweight.

Thus, the characteristic feature of the generator of this type are: high torque, low weight and low speed

Generators can be performed with the number of phase windings 3, 2 and 1, a torque of from 0 to 2000 Nm, the number of poles (magnets) from 2 to 76 and the current frequency to 400 Hz.
